Phoebe Rolleston grew up covered in paint, her mother Annabelle, an artist, always encouraged her and painting and getting into a mess at home so creating was a part of life from the start.
'It was part of life, something that was always central to our family. My childhood home was full of art and things collected over time. It built in me a love of creating and a passion for creating a home for my family that is interesting, reflects us as a family and full of memories and artwork of and by family members and people we admire.'
Phoebe’s career as an artist began when she sold her work at her school exhibition, she has been painting and selling her work ever since. Phoebe is a Melbourne-based artist who works in acrylic and oil on canvas, to create colourful, bold and layered abstract works. She uses layers to create movement in her work, she tries to convey the peace she feels when painting into her work through balance and rhythm.
