This artwork is inspired by my childhood memories in Scotland snorkelling and playing at the seaside. My mother and I would collect seaweed, shells and other items along the beach and use the sand as a canvas to lay out the items and create a scene. I chose vibrant and emotional colours of joy, as I remember discovering the underwater life and the colours being magical. I like the idea of keeping the vibrant tones as a key aesthetic of the artwork to represent my younger self’s interpretation.
We ship original artworks worldwide via DHL Express. Most original artworks are covered by our £25 flat rate, though certain higher-value items will have shipping calculated after checkout based on your location and the artwork's shipping requirements.
Roughly 1 in 4 people in the United Kingdom are diagnosed with some sort of mental health issue each year, with 50% of mental health problems in adult life (excluding dementia) taking root before the age of 15.
To help fight this, we’ve partnered with the amazing Place2Be Art Room programme. They are a pioneer in early intervention, helping schools understand and identify mental health problems, and use art-making and discussion to support pupils with emotional difficulties.
A percentage of our profits go directly to the programme, helping children learn to cope with the world through art.
